Fort Portal Catholic Diocese Pilgrims Embark on Novena for Katoosa Celebrations

Thousands of Catholic faithful from the Fort Portal Catholic Diocese commenced their nine-day novena on 15th January 2025 in preparation for the annual Katoosa celebrations, which honor St. Adolf Tibeyalirwa.
The pilgrimage, set to culminate on January 27, will see devotees gather at the Katoosa Catholic Martyrs Shrine in Katoosa Parish, Kyenjonjo District.
According to Ajuna Acleo, Vice Guild President of the Uganda Martyrs’ Fort Portal Catholic Diocese, the spiritual journey will feature the Glorious Mysteries, the Litany of Martyrs, and the Hymn of the Holy Spirit.
Acleo emphasized the importance of earnest prayer and fasting during the pilgrimage, urging participants to make the spiritual journey truly meaningful.
All pilgrims will converge at Bukwali Parish and depart for Katoosa on the morning of January 24.
