Fr. Obedmu urges Choir members to ‘Come to the Table of the Lord’

The parish priest of Zeu Parish in Nebbi Catholic diocese who also doubles as the Diocesan animator of the Pontifical Missionary Holy Childhood, has urged choir members to participate fully in the Holy Eucharist through the reception of Holy Communion. This was said by the priest while meeting executive members of the choir. “You are the ones who sing ‘let’s go and receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ’ but you don’t receive it. So, who are you requesting to go? You must be the first then others will follow,” Fr. Obedmu noted.

The failure of some choir members to regularize their marriages through the sacrament of Holy Matrimony has been a big obstacle to the reception of Holy Communion. “Marriage is a very holy institution. You don’t need to fear getting married, so as to come to the table of the Lord” the priest counseled. Several representatives at the meeting agreed with Fr. Obedmu and also promised to share the message with other choir members.
