THE BISHOP OF FORT PORTAL TAKES A LEAD IN A WALK OF FAITH
The Bishop of Fortportal Diocese,Rt Reverend Robert Muhiirwa has flagged off what has been named,” A WALK OF FAITH”,from Munyonyo Minor Basilica to Old Kampala, St.Matia Mulumba Catholic Parish.
In his Summon,His Lordship,also the Vice chairman-Uganda Episcopal Conference, encouraged Christians to ponder the Word of God and reflect on it over again, inorder to be transformed thus encouraging them to strive and be soaked more in scriptures.He quoted St.Jerome’s words,”Ignorance of scripture is ignorance of Christ”.He congratulated the pilgrims upon completion of the Walk.
The Bishop acknowledged Pope Paul VI as the first Pope to Visit Uganda and thanked the Lord for the Pope and for his canonization of the Uganda Martyrs,he also requested the faithfuls to pray through St.Bruno Serunkuuma to intercede for their families and for the drunkards.
At their first way-station,at St. Ponsiano Ngondwe Catholic Church, Kyamula,the caretaker gave a brief information about the patron saint, likewise at the second way-station,Mengo Kisenyi,the Parish Priest Rev.Father Emmanuel Lubega gave a brief information about St. Joseph Mukasa Balikuddembe, St. John Mary Muzeeyi and St. Bazzekuketa.
The walk which was flanked by many dignitaries like Members of Parliament,among others,was dedicated to political leaders, bankers, doctors and nurses among others.
