Children from St Mary’s hospital Lacor in Gulu were on the 16th of June blessed with 50kgs of sugar donated by a good Samaritan; Francis Kigozi a resident of Wakiso on the occasion of The African child day which is celebrated worldwide on the 16th of June.

Francis is a truck driver who oscillates between Kampala and Gulu.

Speaking to our reporter, Kigozi said one of the reasons why he donates is because he was nothing but God has made him who he is now hence, he feels the need to give back to God through charity. “Though I am not very rich, I promised Him that whatever little that I get I will share with anyone who is in need, says Kigozi, a father of three.

On his part, Dr Martin Ogwang, the Institutional Director applauded Francis as a man of good heart. Most of our patients are poor and cannot afford basic items, he says. This is the second time that Kigozi is donating to the children admitted to the hospital. He had previously donated boxes of sugar. The women in the ward too thanked Kigozi and wished him more blessings in life.
