Lira Diocese Bicycle Pilgrims set off for a three day Journey to Namugongo

17 RIDERS FROM LIRA TO NAMUGONGO

A total of 17 bicycle pilgrims from Lira including a priest, 3 catechists and 4 women begun a journey of faith on 30th May 2023 which will end with the celebration of martyrs day at Namugongo.

The pilgrims were flagged off by Fr Boniface Aruku, curate at the cathedral who encouraged and entrusted them to the maternal care of Mary mother of the church, whose feast was celebrated yesterday. He then later Blessed the riders and sprinkled water to their Bicycles.

By press time, all the pilgrims had reached their destination for day one which is Kigumba Catholic parish.

Our reporter established that the pilgrims are in shape though with muscle tensions but faith keeps them determined.

On Tuesday 30th, the pilgrims will ride to Kasana-Luweero diocese where they will spend their night at the cathedral.

Wednesday will be their last day of the road ride as they leave Luwero for Namugongo in a journey that is expected to end on Wednesday 3.00pm.

Journey Mercies to them as we continue entrusting all to the care of the Martyrs of Uganda.
