Annual Pilgrimage to St. Kizito’s Birthplace: Nandere Parish Honors Roots of Faith

Today the Parishioners of Our Lady of Grace in Nandere Parish, Kasana, Luweero Diocese, embarked on their annual pilgrimage to the birthplace of St. Kizito in Waluleeta. This sacred journey held great significance for the faithful, as they sought to honor and connect with the roots of their faith.

The Mass, a central part of the pilgrimage, was led by Rev. Fr. Joseph Kakooza Nyanzi, the esteemed Dean of Kasana Deanery and Chairman of Episcopal Ordination Preparations. With his guidance, the congregation engaged in worship and reflection, drawing strength from the rich spiritual heritage they shared.

Rev. Fr. Augustine Mpagi delivered a deeply inspiring homily during the Mass, captivating the hearts and minds of those in attendance. He fervently encouraged everyone to follow in the footsteps of St. Kizito, recognizing him as a shining example of faith and devotion. Fr. Mpagi emphasized the importance of cherishing the Uganda martyrs and striving for heavenly glory, as it represents an everlasting treasure that surpasses the fleeting vanities of the earthly realm.

Drawing upon the wisdom of King Solomon in today’s Gospel, Fr. Mpagi emphasized the significance of seeking essential virtues and divine guidance. He highlighted the incredible courage displayed by the martyrs, who willingly sacrificed their lives for their unwavering faith in Christ. Through his powerful words, Fr. Mpagi instilled a profound sense of devotion and reminded the faithful of the enduring significance of their spiritual journey.
