AMECEA PLENARY: “Have Unconditional Love for God’s Creation”, Cardinal Tagle calls on all Catholic Faithful.

 
Prefect of the Congregation for the Congregation for the Evangelization of People at the Vatican in Italy, H.E Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle has urged Catholic Christians in the world to have unconditional love for creation made by God.

Speaking at the official opening Mass of the 20th Plenary Assembly at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es – Salaam, Tanzania on Sunday, 10th July, 2022 Cardinal Tagle urged all Catholics in the world to love the amazing works of God through his creation.

Cardinal Tagle emphasised that Christians must have the spirit of caring towards one another and for all the living things that God has created.

“We need to ask ourselves why it is that, caring is less these days? For those people that are married, when you see your husband or wife, do you see the image of God or something else?” wonderingly, asked Cardinal Tagle.

More so, Cardinal Tagle has urged the 20th AMECEA Assembly delegates to address the root cause of the environmental phenomenon brought by environmental degradation.

“We need to check the foundation cause of the environmental degradation to have concrete resolutions after the Assembly otherwise we shall have cosmetics resolutions from the assembly” Cardinal Tagle spoke.

Meanwhile the Apostolic Nuncio for Kenya and Sudan Most Rev. Hubertus Matheus Maria Van Megen has commended the AMECEA membership for its co-existence between Catholics from the region.

The Nuncio cited the use of local languages for prayers during holy mass as a sign of co-existing among members in the AMECEA region.
“We only missed Arabic during the prayers, that is the language spoken in South Sudan where I am coming from,” said Nuncio Maria Van Megen

The 20th Plenary of the AMECEA in Dar es – Salaam, Tanzania will be deliberating on the delicate matter of ‘Care for our common home’ stipulated in Pope Francis’ teaching on Laudato si.

Under the theme: “Environmental Impact on Integral Human Development “, the plenary has been opened.

The 10-day Assembly in Dar es – Salaam will share more on the Care of the Earth and Laudato si, Faith, Values, and Ethics in the Care for the environment, Care for the integral Ecology: Church and Government Collaborations just list some.
