The Bishop of Lira Catholic diocese Rt Reverend Sanctus Lino Wanok has lamented the rising deaths of priests yet few are joining the priestly life. Delivering his homily today at Nebbi Cathedral at the burial of Rev Fr Primo Bwo Manano who died on the 25th of July, the bishop noted that in just two months Nebbi Diocese had lost four priests in a row. “This is a big blow to the Church. Let’s pray that many people will respond to God’s call to serve Him as priests” the bishop prayed.

The Bishop further consoled the family of the bereaved and he encouraged them to remain strong noting that offering their son to the service of the Lord was the greatest and best decision they would ever have made. The passing on of the priest the bishop noted, was not a loss but a victory in Jesus Christ.

Fr Primo Bwo Manano was born in 1962 to the late Wakunga Martin Boti and the late Ana Ongiera of Patek Nyangam. He was ordained a priest in 1993 and served in several parishes that include Orussi in Nebbi Catholic diocese.
