Biography Of Rev Fr Dr Constantine Rupiny – Bishop elect Nebbi Catholic Diocese

The Holy Father has appointed as Bishop of the Diocese of Nebbi (Uganda) the Rev. Fr. Constantine Rupiny of the clergy of the same diocese, currently Rector of the Uganda Martyrs’ National Major Seminary in Alokolum in the Archdiocese of Gulu.

Curriculum vitae

Rev Fr Dr Constantine Rupiny was born on 10 November 1974 in Parombo in the Diocese of Nebbi.

He completed his philosophical studies at the Uganda Martyrs’ National Major Seminary in Alokolum, in the Archdiocese of Gulu (1996 – 1999) and his theological studies at St Mary’s National Major Seminary in Ggaba in the Archdiocese of Kampala (2000-2004).

He subsequently obtained a Licentiate in Philosophy at the Pontifical Urbaniana university in Rome (2009-2011) and a Doctorate in Dogmatic Theology at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyhski University in Warsaw, Poland (2018-2022).

He was ordained a priest on 28 August 2004.

He has held the following positions:

Parish Vicar of Kango (2004-2005)

Parish Priest of Akanyo (2005-2007)

Formator and Professor at the Uganda Martyrs’ National Major Seminaryof Alokolum (2007-2009, and 2011-2018)

Vice President of the Presbyteral Council of Nebbi (2017-2018)

Vice Rector of the Uganda Martyrs’ National Major Seminary of Alokolum (January-September 2023) and, from September 2023, Rector of the same.
