Bishop Jjumba Celebrates the Late Kayondo’s  Last Funeral rites and installation of heir

 The Bishop of Masaka Catholic diocese the Rt. Rev. Serverus Jjumba  on Saturday 24th June attended and led mass of celebrating the life of the late Kayondo Everest Kyafa and the installation of the heir to the Late Kayondo. The event took place at Kyanukuzi village on Villa Maria Road, in Masaka Diocese.

 At the function, Simon Kiluga a son to the deceased was prayed for, blessed, and counseled to stand strong in faith in God and to carry on as a leader like his deceased father. 

 The Bishop in his homily placed emphasis on placing one’s trust in God who is the source of strength and wisdom. He asked the heir, the family and the entire clan to continue trusting in God through challenging times. He reminded them assembly about Late Kayondo Everest whom he praised for being a committed concerned and devoted Catholic who loved, served, and introduced God to his family while still alive.  The Bishop asked Mr. Simon Kiluga the heir to trust and seek wisdom from the Lord that will enable him to lead and take the family ahead since the entire clan has entrusted him with the leadership of the family.  ” God is the only helper to leaders, trust him , seek his wisdom for the leadership you’re taking from today and he will help you to lead with wisdom and strength ” Bishop Jjumba noted.

 He thanked the family, the clan and church leaders for the cooperation in inviting him to such a wonderful function. The Bishop highlighted that a family or community without a leader struggles in many ways.  Hon. Babirye Kabanda the former Woman MP for Masaka District and the Hon. Mawanda Achilles the Mayor of Masaka City were also present at the function. 

Brief Information: 

Mr. Kayondo Everest Kyafa died on 21st June 2021  ate height of the Covid-19 pandemic. He once served as the Chairman of the Masaka Diocese – Kampala residents association, a body that brings together all Catholics from Masaka, residing and working in Kampala who gather and meet in Nsambya, quarterly every year. 

May Kayondo Everest ‘ s soul continue to rest in the Lord.
