Bishop Jjumba Launches a Centenary Celebration of St. Henry’s College, Kitovu

Kitovu, Masaka: The Bishop of the Diocese of Masaka Rt. Rev. Serverus Jjumba, on Monday 11th July 2022 Launched activities for preparations of celebrating 100years since St. Henry’s College, Kitovu was founded in Masaka.

The Bishop, at Kitovu thanked all who took charge in the wellbeing of the school from it’s first years till the best level it appears on , currently, journeying with the school for 100years supporting it for the best mentoring of the young Ugandans both in Physical and Spiritual Being, thus grooming them to be responsible and God fearing citizens.

Bishop Jjumba started with the Launching and blessing of the 100years memorial and then made a tour to the newly built Science block where Science and practical subjects will be taken from and this is the block which the President Of the republic of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni offered support for its construction. Bishop Led mass in the School Chapel where he administered the Holy sacrament of Confirmation to more than 50 students.

In his speech, Bishop Jjumba asked students to utilize the training they get from the school to sustain themselves and to work for their country, Uganda.

He continued and thanked the founders of St. Henry’s college, and those personalities who have offered an effort for the best of the school up to date, in a special way thanking president Museveni for having put a strong effort for the existence of the Science block.

The prelate raised his voice and called upon all people of God in the diocese of masaka, and well wishers to voluntarily participate in the activities put on ground in preparations for the mega Centenary celebration that is coming forth.


Brother Augustine Mugabo, the Head master of the school expressed readiness to cooperate with all people of good will in preparations of the centenary day, beginning with a week of prayer and thanksgiving to God for the gift of this School. He also opened up about preparations where the centenary building will be constructed, for purposes of Technical trainings for the people of Masaka.
