Bunamwaya youth apostolate organizes a sports gala

BUNAMWAYA YOUTH APOSTOLATE ORGANIZES SPORTS GALA.

Bunamwaya St.Gyaviira Youth Apostolate, organised a Sports Gala at Hillside International School under a theme; “DON’T BE AFRAID,RISE,PICK YOUR MAT AND WALK”.

Following the year’s workplan of the Archdiocese, Bunamwaya parish under Entebbe vicariate, organized these games on 28th May 2022,to promote youth engagement and involvement, talent search and development to be able to participate in the next level at the Vicariate on 8th August,2022.

The gala was presided over by the Youth Chaplain,Rev.Fr.Peter Mugenyi, who appreciated the Archdiocesan Youth for putting up such platforms for Youth to express skills through sports. He appreciated the nature of competition and descipline and thus wished them success at the next level at Entebbe Vicariate, where 15 parishes in the four deanaries will meet.

To grace the occasion was a Ministry of Education representative-Mr.Kajumba Joseph,and many others.

The gala they organized included football,netball, volleyball, egg race, 100meters race,sack race, tag of way, arm wrestling, chess, Ludo, Draft, Mweso and bottle filling. The gala started at 8:30am and ended at 7:00pm where six out of eight sub-parishes participated and Kisigula sub-parish emerged the winner,then came the first runner-up Lufuka and second runner-up Nfuufu sub-parish.

These games are part of the workplan activities organised by Kampala Archdiocesan Youth Apostolate where all parishes are requested to take part in the activities.
