CACEMCHO lights up the start of Advent season with a splendid carols performance

Uganda ‘s Catholic Faith Centenary Choral Group Catholic Centenary Memorial Choir popularly known as CACEMCHO, held their 2024 Christmas Carols Performance on 1st December 2024 (the First Sunday Of the Season Of Advent) at Christ the King Parish Kampala  organized under the theme: Rejoice! Christ is Born.

Directed by Mr. Anthony Kambugu, Mr. Vincent Katende and accompanied by Mr. Mukisa John Mary, the Performance of Advent – Christmas hymns genres of Classical,  Local and Western pieces attracted numerous Choral music Composers, Choristers from various choirs all over Uganda, distinguished guests and parishioners of the hosting parish where the choir is based.

The parish priest Msgr. Gerald Kalumba, Christ the King Parish , among other speakers applauded the choirs executive and Board committees for the selfless dedication towards the ministerial responsibility that doesn’t mean carols but also the two masses the choir animates at this particular parish i.e: the Sunday Vigil mass on every Saturday at 6:00pm and Sunday at 7 am, the masses he termed as main commitments as performances and concerts serves as second priorities and as ways of finding finances to help in supporting Choirs welfare.

He also thanked Choristers for serving fully and wholeheartedly and keeping the best standard the parish has held for many years.

ABOUT THE CHOIR:

The Catholic Centenary Memorial Choir (CACEMCHO) was founded in1978 by the late His Eminence Emmanuel Cardinal Nsubuga to lead the faithful in the celebration of 100 years of the Catholic faith in Uganda. It’s comprised of members from different parishes and Dioceses of Uganda.

CACEMCHO animates the Saturday 6:00 pm Holy Mass and the Sunday 7:00 am Holy Mass at Christ the King Parish Kampala. The choir also sings at weddings, Graduations, Ordinations, Jubilee celebrations among others.

The choir has managed to travel to different countries which include; Italy (Vatican) 3 times, France, Jerusalem, Germany, Rwanda, Kenya, and Tanzania.

Mission: To Provide Quality Singing To Facilitate Believers Praise God Better As We Match To Our Heavenly Home
