Congratulations: Bishop Anthony Zziwa Celebrates 21st Episcopal Ordination Anniversary

Born on 16th February 1956 at Kasambya, Mubende Parish in Kiyinda Mityana Diocese, Rt Rev Dr Joseph Anthony Zziwa celebrated 21 years as a Bishop today Thursday 16th March 2023.

The cleric was ordained a priest on 16th November 1980 and on November 19th 2001 at the age of 43, he was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Kiyinda Mityana before being ordained a Bishop on 2nd October 2004.

In November 2018, he was elected by fellow Catholic Bishops as the Chairman Uganda Episcopal Conference replacing The Most Reverand John Baptist Odama who had served two terms of Four years.

Before him, The Late Bishop Joseph Mukwaya served the Diocese from 21st June 1988 – 23rd October 2004. Bishop Mukwaya succeeded Emmanuel Wamala who served from 17th July 1981 – 21st June 1988 when he was appointed Coadjutor Archbishop of Kampala.
