HELP THE NEEDY
Third Sunday of Advent
Luke 3:10-18
“The crowds asked John the Baptist, what should we do? He said to them in reply, if anyone has two tunics, he must share with the man who has none, and the one with something to eat must do the same.”
The message here is really very simple: help the needy. We should always be mindful of the needs of others, sharing the blessing of our wealth with our brothers and sisters in need rather than trying to get more for ourselves. A saintly adage says; live simply, so that others can simply live.
Lord Jesus, help us to increase in generosity until it can be said that there is no needy person among us. Amen
