First Sunday of Advent C

Luke 21:25-28, 34-36

“Stay awake, praying at all times for the strength to survive all that is going to happen, and to hold your ground before the Son of man.”

Stay awake! Be alert against sin. Pray always and guard against worldliness. Getting so wrapped in the affairs of life that you forget about Jesus, is tantamount to falling asleep at the wheel. As we begin the Advent season in preparation for the birthday of Jesus, don’t forget to continually prepare for when Jesus comes again in glory. Stay awake!!

Dear Jesus, we invite you into our hearts this Advent season. We ask You to deliver us from sin, worries and fears that have grown heavy within us. Help us to stay watchful for your coming in glory. Amen.
