Daily Reflection Sunday 29th August 2021
THE HEART OF YOUR PROBLEM IS THE PROBLEM OF YOUR HEART
22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Mark 7:1-8, 14-15, 21-23
Jesus tells us that the heart is a repository of good and evil, and what comes out of the mouth begins in the heart. In fact, a man or a woman is defined by that which he holds in his heart. If the heart is spirit filled, it will produce a spirit filled life-style.
If the heart is sinful, it will produce a sinful life. If the heart is bitter, it will produce a bitter life. If the heart is cold, it will produce a cold life. If the heart is divided, it will produce a divided life. An evil heart produces evil. The heart of your problem is the problem of your heart. It is the heart that must be cleansed.
Dear Jesus, keep me attentive to my heart’s condition. Create in me a pure heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Give me a loving heart. Give me a heart for you. Amen.
