Daily Reflection Thursday 18th November 2021

Luke 19:41-44

WE COULD AS WELL WEEP

OVER OUR CITIES

As Jesus came near and saw the Jerusalem city, Luke tells us, “He wept over it.”

Look at our nations, cities and towns: the immorality, domestic violence, urban terrorism, murders, corruption, injustices, poor service delivery, etc. – don’t we have every reason to weep as Jesus once did over Jerusalem? But do not stop at weeping. Let us repent our own participation in sin and all forms of injustice. Let us be the instruments of peace and agents of the change we all desire.

Dear Jesus, as we look at our cities today, we grieve. Help us to turn from sin and every injustice as we look up to you for salvation. Come and be Lord and Saviour of our Cities and Nations. Amen.
