DO NOT LOSE YOURSELF IN THE TEMPORARY

Matthew 16:24-27

“And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?” Is anything worth more than your soul? Jesus laid out the value of the soul. The value is out of this world! Your soul is worth more than riches, fame, material possessions, pleasure, success, power, social status and anything you can ever imagine.

You can’t take anything you gain in this world with you into eternity. Don’t lose your soul over something temporary and everything on earth is temporary. Set your priorities on things above, not on earthly things.

O LORD, rescue my soul from worldliness. Help me to choose the higher life of heaven instead of seeking the pleasures of this fleeting world.
