LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM

John 6:37-40

In Christ no one is ever lost or left behind. “This is the will of my Father, that I should lose nothing of what he has given me.” Jesus’ words from the Gospel of John give usassurance that what God has promised us in baptism can be fulfilled. It is not because we are good, or we deserve it, but that God has chosen to love us, and the Father has given all of us into the care of Christ who loves us to death. As we pray for those who have died, let us be strengthened in the sure and certain hope that God desires our eternal salvation and not damnation.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.
