Kasana Luweero Diocese celebrates the Diocesan Youth Day

Today 18th November 2023, all youths all over Kasana Luweero diocese led by Rt. Rev. Lawrence Mukasa gathered at the St. Kizito youths Centre, Kasana to Celebrate the annual diocesan youth day under the Theme “Rejoice in hope”

The Celebration began with Holy mass that was led by the Bishop Lawrence Mukasa assisted by priests and youths involved in various activities of the Celebration .

In the Homily, Bishop Lawrence Mukasa asked the youths to embrace hard work to success. In concern, he said that every youth who fails, the world feels sad about it, in the opposite way, when he or she succeeds , the world celebrates, rejoices and gives thanks .

He asked the youths to use their God given talents to benefit and Develop themselves . He argued them to be creative and their talents may be beneficial to them.

Relating to the Bible teaching he challenged them and said the church has put light for them to differentiate good and evil. He added that as christians they must learn to listen to the voice of God through their parents, elders, and leaders so that they become responsible, respectful and fruitful people in future.

Rev. Fr. Bonny Ssenteza the Diocesan youths chaplain in his remarks welcomed the Bishop to the St. Kizito youths center that is now under construction Which is home for the youths of Kasana Luweero diocese.

At this function, present was the diocesan Vicar General Msgr. Francis Xavier Mpanga, the National youth chaplain and director Rev. Fr. Mugerwa, National youth Coordinator Ms. Joyce Zaako, all youth Chaplains all over the diocese and outside, administrators and Hon. Brenda Nabukenya the Woman member of Parliament for Luweero.

Information; The Annual Youth day Celebration is always held on Christ the King Sunday every year. However , Kasana Luweero diocese shifted the Celebration date to today 18th November 2023 Because Bishop of the Diocese will lead the Christians in Kiyinda Mityana on Christ the King Sunday in a thanksgiving mass upon his previous Episcopal Consecration as Bishop of Kasana Luweero .

In this Celebration , all youths from various parishes of the diocese donated bags of cement to support construction of the St. Kizito youth center, in Kasana Luweero .
