A group of 45 catechists from Ngetta Parish have returned from a five-day pilgrimage in Kampala, during which they visited several significant Catholic sites. The catechists have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, the Minister of Health and Woman Member of Parliament for Lira City, for her invaluable support during their pilgrimage.
According to Rev. Fr. Constantine Opio CJ, the Parish Priest of Ngetta, the pilgrimage aimed to rejuvenate and enhance the spiritual development of the catechists. He acknowledged Dr. Aceng’s support, which included accommodation and meals, as a significant contribution to the success of the visit.
The catechists visited various sites, including Our Lady of Africa, Mbuya Parish, the Minor Basilica Martyrs Shrine in Munyonyo, and the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine. They also visited the Parliament of Uganda.
Daniel Molly Bua, a catechist and event coordinator, expressed his gratitude to God for the successful pilgrimage. He commended Dr. Aceng for her generosity and thoughtful gesture of providing tokens for the pilgrims to take home.
Dr. Aceng responded by thanking God for the successful pilgrimage and expressing her pleasure at seeing the catechists’ joy. She also thanked Lira University for donating the bus that transported the pilgrims.
