Obedience To God Leads to Better Concern For Others – Bishop Wanok Sanctus

The Bishop of Lira Catholic Diocese Rt Rev Sanctus Lino Wanok has urged Christians to turn to God and live in obedience to Him. The message was contained in a homily that was delivered by the bishop in a live broadcast celebrating the Fourteenth Sunday in ordinary time .

“We need to turn to God and live in obedience to Him. Practicing corruption, fighting one another, land grabbing, and torturing others are among the things that demonstrate how far and disobedient we have gone. If the world and all people are to live in harmony, obedience to God will have to be centered” Bishop Wanok implored.

The Bishop further noted that amidst the tough economic times being faced in the developing world, global economic systems need to be reviewed to take into consideration the needs of the developing countries. With all the wealth that countries in Africa have, there should not be a reason for people to undergo suffering had it not been the bad existing economic systems. With obedience to God, the bishop argued, nations and individuals will learn to be concerned about their neighbors.
