PAPAL NUNCIO VISIT TO LIRA DIOCESE FROM 19TH – 22ND MAY 2022

19TH MAY 2022 ARRIVAL TO THE DIOCESE OF LIRA

    The Police lead car and the Christians in cars shall wait for the nuncio from Nora in Oyam district. Why Nora? Nora is the first trading Centre as you enter Lira Diocese through Karuma.
    The rest of the Christian community of Aber Parish shall gather in Conner Atapara. The Nuncio shall bless the Christian community then continue with the journey.
  13. NEXT STATION IS LORO
  14. The nuncio shall have a stopover in Loro Catholic Parish for 30 minutes.
    Activities: Mounting the foundation Stone, Planting memorial tree and refreshment.
  15. NEXT STATION IS CONNER MWOLEM ABOKE KOLE DISTRICT
    Activity: Blessing the Christian community of Aboke Parish
  16. NEXT STATION IS ST. MONICA ODOKOMIT
    Activities: Planting the Memorial Tree and Blessing the Christians
  17. ENTRY TO LIRA CITY
    From Odokomit up to Roundabout near the petrol station, join Juba Road up to Roundabout on Soroti Road; turn to Obote Avenue up to roundabout near Central Police Station, Follow Lira-Kitgum Road up to Conner works, then turn to Church Road up to Bishop’s House, the Christian continues and enter the Cathedral for Eucharistic Adoration.
  18. His Lordship Sanctus Lino Wanok welcomes the Nuncio to the Bishop’s House. The Nuncio shall have refreshment for few minutes in Bishop’s residence then join the Christian community in the Cathedral for adoration; then he concludes the Adoration with blessing the Christians gathered in the Church then departure.
    20th May 2022, pastoral visit of Nuncio to Dokolo and Aloi Deaneries, venue Dokolo Parish
    21st May 2022, Aber and Apac deaneries venue is Aduku Catholic Parish (activities Opening New Priest’s house, and Eucharistic celebration.
    22nd May 2022, Pastoral Visit to Ngetta and Aboke Deaneries, venue; Ordination Ground Lira Cathedral.

  19. All masses starts at 10:00 am
  20. Nuncio leaves bishop’s residence at 8:00am daily for pastoral visits.
