Bishop Wamika, who has been at the helm of the Diocese of Jinja since his appointment by Pope Benedict XVI in March 2010 , replacing Bishop Joseph Willigers is remembered for his pastoral zeal, commitment to evangelization, and deep concern for the spiritual and social welfare of his flock. Under his leadership, the diocese witnessed growth in education, health, and media apostolates, making a lasting mark on the Catholic Church in Eastern Uganda.
The Diocese of Jinja has called on all the faithful and people of goodwill to join in prayer for the peaceful repose of Bishop Wamika’s soul. Funeral arrangements will be communicated later by the diocesan authorities. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
