St. Charles Lwanga Jinja Karoli Parish Choir blesses its audience with a sweet Marian and Martyrs Concert.

Earlier in April 2022, the Parish Priest, St. Charles Lwanga Jinja Karoli Catholic Parish, Kawempe Choir committee together with the entire parish adminstration began organising the Marian and Martyrs Concert and scheduled it for 3rd July 2022. With a major intention of collecting a sum of funds to support in buying the choral uniform for the animation of the the 2022 Kampala Archdiocesan Day following the appointment from the Archbishop to the Parish, to animate liturgy of this annual Archdiocesan Day.

After 3 months of committed training by the five music directors led by the parish choir director Mr. Allan Sserwadda, on Sunday 3rd 2022, the concert began at 4:25pm with presentation of Martyrs and Marian Hymns where the audience was placed in the meditation on the Holy Martyrs of Uganda and the intercession of mother Mary.

The parish Priest Rev. Fr. Sylvester Buwembo in his speech thanked everyone who supported the programme by buying and selling tickets for the concert and also for honoring the day.

He also thanked the Archbishop for the chance he gave to the parish to animate the liturgy of the archdiocesan day and he promised the best since the preparations are at the start. He finally thanked the choir and all the directors and the instrumentalists from the Kampala Orchestra who came to accompany the choir for all the big effort they placed in, for the Success of the Concert.

Kampala Archdiocesan day is an annual celebration that takes place at the Sacred Heart Cathedral , Lubaga, Kampala Archdioceses to commemorate the foundation day of the Archdiocese. The animation of this day is organised by any appointed parish or catholic institution or community within the archdiocese, every year thus this year’s celebration to be led by St. Charles Lwanga Jinja Karoli Catholic Parish, Kawempe on 30th October 2022.
