St Joseph’s Seminary Nyenga

On March 19, 1924, Bishop John Henry Mary Biermans (a Mill Hill Missionary) laid the foundation stone for the statue of St. Joseph at Nyenga, in Buikwe District.

The prelate’s action marked the start of St. Joseph’s Minor Seminary, Nyenga, which since then has produced many priests and laymen of substance, who are currently serving the Church and humanity.

Well, Nyenga Seminary has clocked 100 years and is now preparing to celebrate its centenary.

The centennial celebrations were launched during a colorful function that took place at the seminary (at Nyenga, Buikwe district) on March 25, 2023.

This seminary prepares young boys from S.1 to S.6 who would like to become priests. It avails necessary integrals Catholic conditions for these seminarians to be formed and to form themselves into future PRIESTS
