Arua Diocese Celebrates Feast of Immaculate Conception


Arua Diocese marked the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on December 9, 2024, with a solemn Holy Mass at Lodonga Minor Basilica in Yumbe District. Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki presided over the ceremony.

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is a significant celebration in the Catholic Church, honoring the belief that the Virgin Mary was conceived without original sin. This annual celebration recognizes Mary’s purity and her crucial role in humanity’s salvation.

During the event, the Catholic Women and Men Association of Arua Diocese officially received the candle from Maracha Vicariate. This symbolic act marks the transition of responsibility for organizing the Feast of the Immaculate Conception for the year 2025.

“May Mary’s immaculate conception inspire us to live virtuous lives, embracing purity and devotion,” said Rt. Rev. Sabino Ocan Odoki.

The Catholic Women and Men Association has pledged to animate and prepare a memorable celebration for 2025, fostering spiritual growth and unity among the faithful.
