St Charles Lwanga Choir ready to sing for Christians before Martyrs Day Celebrations
PREPARE YOURSELVES FOR YET ANOTHER WORSHIP CONCERT BY ST.CHARLES CHOIR.
St. Charles is yet to unfold what they call a Marian/Martyrs’ Concert with theme:”KRISTU MWAMUJULIRA”,at the Sacred Heart Cathedral,on 29th May 2022 starting at 2:00 pm in front of the parish offices.
St Charles is one of the choirs that prepare a Christian for diligent worship at the Lubaga Sacred Heart Cathedral. It animates the Five O’clock mass in the evening.
In a brief,the chairperson Salongo Mujjuzi Godfrey promises to quench all the thirsty souls,he says,”The reason the concert is called Marian/Martyrs is because it’s the month of Mother Mary and that we are approaching the Martyrs’ day celebrations”.He thus promises that the concert will be spiced up with hymns of Mother Mary, and of the Holy Martyrs, in remembrance of the Uganda Martyrs.
Salongo says, the main purpose for these Carols is to foster a fundraising campaign of upcomings projects like securing tents and a public address system meant to raise it’s choristers’ standards of living.
Emulating Charles Lwanga,St. Charles was started as a youth choir in 1990, by then, Cathedral Administrator, Reveland Father Wynan Katende,and Sabavubuka then, Mr.Kalanzi Alloysious with an intension to keep the youth occupied during the evening hours.
Monsignor Katende now, from Namugongo is expected as one of the guests as well as the now Saabakristu Kalanzi Alloysious and many other guests to grace the function.
St Charles along side the guest and St Genesius youth choir , officially invites all the clergy,friends, all choirs, well-wishers,directors and members of the public to join them as they champion this cause.
